bswift Unveils New User Interface, Consumerism and Exchange Tools

CHICAGO, IL — Thursday, June 21st, 2012


bswift, a leader in software and services for employee benefits administration, announced today that it recently released version 6.0 of its SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) technology platform. Highlights of this release include:
  • Re-design of the bswift user interface, including optimization on, and compatibility with, the many new browsers and mobile devices taking hold in the market in the past two years
  • Numerous enhancements for Exchanges, improving the user experience for “shopping” for benefits, including bswift’s proprietary BestFit Plan Advisor tool
  • Hundreds of incremental enhancements and new features improving enrollment, benefit eligibility transitions, automation, fulfillment and tools for benefit administrators
  • Transparency tools for EDI workflow and operations
“Our goal was to provide employees and administrators a great user experience based on simplicity, ease-of-use, elegance, and speed,” noted Shawn Calvert, bswift Director, User Experience. “The new design is more visually appealing and user-friendly, reflecting current usability standards and user research from bswift's extensive client base. It also features our first wave of input, table and button enhancements to enable cross-browser and cross-device compatibility, helping users work faster and better, wherever they are working.”

“The 6.0 release introduces even more opportunities for bswift clients to promote their company brand and messaging,” Calvert commented. “For example, the employee home page can be as simple or as robust as clients want it to be, and can be easily reconfigured and updated with modular content as needs change.”

bswift’s consumer tools and Exchange features were also significantly enhanced. For example, the user experience for the bswift BestFit Plan Advisor was streamlined and upgraded with visual aids to help consumers select the optimal health plan (for traditional employers/employees as well as for Exchange users). “Our new and improved BestFit tool exemplifies bswift’s ongoing commitment to the development of engaging, intelligent, and valuable decision support tools,” noted Brett Baker, bswift’s Chief Technology Officer. “And we also enhanced our retail shopping experience for consumers so that employers and employees can compare plans easily, incorporating the design principles espoused by UX 2014, among others.”
