bswift Announces New Mobile Functionality, Shopping and Exchange Tools

CHICAGO, IL — Wednesday, September 11th, 2013


bswift, a leader in cloud-based technology and services for employee benefits and health exchanges, announced today that it recently released version 6.04 of its platform. Highlights of this release include:

  • Responsive web design, which provides an optimal viewing and shopping experience on a wide range of browsers and devices, including iPhones, iPads, Android phones, and other mobile devices
  • Improved benefits shopping tools, including bswift’s new "Ask Emma," an interactive benefits advisor
  • Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance tools, including the 9.5% Affordability Dashboard, 30-hour rule tracking, notifications and reporting
  • Enhancements to improve efficiency and performance including a site text editor and Imports 2.0 for increased flexibility accepting data from more sources and formats

With the responsive web design, employees can now securely access the bswift platform from their preferred mobile device with mobile-friendly navigation and readability. This mobile site supports the complete employee user experience, including enrollment. Employees can also easily access documents, links, and videos featured on the bswift employee portal. The responsive site can be launched directly via the web or via the existing bswift Mobile Benefits Quicklook application that was released last fall.

"Our goal was to provide employees with the flexibility to shop and enroll in benefits from anywhere, while maintaining a great user experience based on simplicity, ease-of-use, elegance, and speed," noted Shawn Calvert, bswift Director, User Experience. "The responsive site offers the same simple and intuitive experience on mobile phones, tablets and high resolution monitors, allowing users to work between devices seamlessly."

bswift also unveiled "Ask Emma," an interactive decision support tool designed to help employees make more informed and personalized benefit decisions. Ask Emma guides employees through the buying process in which simple questions are asked and benefits offering the "best fit" are suggested. Unlike other tools in the market today, Ask Emma is integrated into the shopping and enrollment platform for a seamless consumer experience.

bswift also released numerous enhancements for exchanges, including:

  • Pre-quote tool for small employers
  • Connectivity with the Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM)
  • Enhanced payment processing
