Michael Sachs
Co-Founder
Michael Sachs is a noted healthcare industry strategist and visionary with over 25 years of experience in the field. Currently, he serves as Chairman of Sg2, a healthcare information firm that Michael founded. In 1984, Michael founded and served as Chairman of Sachs Group (now part of Solucient, LLC), a leading provider of healthcare planning and marketing data to over 1,000 institutions nationwide. Prior to forming Sachs Group, Michael was a consultant with Ernst and Whinney and AT Kearney. He also served on the management team of Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. Michael began his healthcare career by working in the Emergency Department of the University of Missouri Medical Center.
Michael earned a BA in Science and an MSPH in Health Management from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Richard Gallun
Chief Executive Officer
Rich’s 20 years of experience in the healthcare, benefits, and information technology sectors include multiple responsibilities in Marketing, Sales, Account Management, and Operations. He co-founded bswift and led its growth into one of the nation’s leaders in benefits administration and technology. Prior to bswift, he served as Vice President of Provider Relations and Network Development for Health Partners, a leading physician practice management firm. Prior to that, Rich served in various management positions at Sachs Group, a leading provider of healthcare planning and marketing data, and directed their entry into the managed care marketplace. Earlier in his career, Rich worked in sales and consulting roles at IBM and A.T. Kearney.
Rich holds a BA from Williams College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Raymond Seaver
Executive Vice President
Ray’s 20 years of experience in insurance and benefits include various executive positions. Ray founded and built several benefits and healthcare companies, including Plaines Health Networks, a PPO, and KeyLink Group, a third party administrator. KeyLink was sold to National Employee Benefits, Inc. (NEBI), and Ray was instrumental in the subsequent sale of NEBI to American Whole Health (AWH). Ray served as President/Chief Operating Officer of American WholeHealth Networks, a leading national alternative health care network firm, after its parent (AWH) acquired NEBI in November 1998. Ray's success in growing benefits companies demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the constantly evolving marketplace as well as a client-focused orientation.
Ray holds a BA and an advanced degree in Ambulatory Health Care Administration from the University of Minnesota, and is a licensed life and health agent.
Chip Perkins
Business Development
Chip has over 20 years of experience in business development, marketing and strategy with leading companies such as JP Morgan, Citibank, Sachs Group and Dimension Data (formerly Proxicom). His in-depth knowledge of the insurance and healthcare industries stems from his consulting experience with healthcare and insurance companies at Proxicom and the Sachs Group. Chip’s broad experience and industry expertise help to drive bswift’s business development as well as many other aspects of the company’s operations.
Chip holds a BA from Bowdoin College and a Master’s degree from the Yale School of Management.
Susan Gumbs
Client Services
Sue has over 12 years of project and client management experience in the benefits administration industry. Her experience includes positions held at Cyborg Systems, where she served as a consultant and corporate trainer for their integrated HR, benefit and payroll administration software package. Sue then moved on to the Employee Benefit Outsourcing group within Aon Consulting where she provided both implementation and client management support to several key clients.
Sue holds a BA from DePaul University.
John Marrero
Vendor Relations
John has over 10 years of client service and EDI experience in the benefits administration industry. Prior to joining bswift, John worked for Hewitt Associates, Aon Consulting, and BlueCross and BlueShield of Illinois. In all of John's previous career experiences, he has concentrated on translating client specific data requirements to meet customer-driven deliverables.
John received a BA from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
Christopher Arcoleo
Broker & Consultant Partnerships
Chris has spent over 20 years in the employee benefits business. He began his career as a Regional Manager for Consolidated Group Trust (later acquired by HealthPlan Services), a full-service TPA of employee benefit plans based in Framingham, MA. Chris later spent time in Minneapolis, Los Angeles and Seattle before returning to New England in 1995 to run the New York sales team for Consolidated Group. He later joined Prudential HealthCare and served as New York City Sales Director. In 1999, Chris joined OnlineBenefits (now A.D.A.M.) and was instrumental in the initial development and success of the Benergy portal. He held various positions in sales and marketing at OnlineBenefits until he was appointed Director of Enterprise Partnerships in 2002. Chris brings his extensive insurance broker relationship skills and benefits technology experience to the bswift team.
Chris holds a BA in Communications from New England College.
